BLOG SPOTLIGHT The NCS Blog has thoughts and stories from the NCS Leadership Team. Check the website regularly for new entries. We Really Need Energy Groups By Jim Lane (Who's he?) Many of you already know of the tragic death of our friend and NCS brother, Leo Stephens, who ended his life two weeks ago at the age of 46. Leo was a devoted husband and father and an active member of the NCS Manchester, Vermont chapter Please pray for his wife and their four children, ages 10-17. Leo truly loved the Lord, and we take comfort knowing that he now has found peace. Before moving to Vermont a few years ago, the Stephens family lived in Charleston, SC where Richard Belser was their pastor. Rev. Belser gave the eulogy at Leo’s funeral on May 22^nd, entitled "The Way Through the Woods". I attended the funeral and was so impacted by the eulogy and its relevance to NCS men generally that I wanted to share it with all of you. . . Click here to read the entire piece and download the eulogy. UPCOMING EVENTS NCS Week at Camp-of-the-Woods This year NCS Week at Camp-of-the-Woods (COTW) will held August 14-21. COTW is a Christian family resort in the heart of the Adirondacks in upstate New York. The featured speaker during NCS Week will be John Guest, who just gave a powerful talk at NCS New Canaan. If you (or your wife) are worried about eating hot dogs and chips for a week, have no fear. One of the COTW Executive Chefs is a Culinary Institute of America graduate and will appearing on the Food Network (July 6, 2010 at 10 pm will be the first airing)--this is not your grandfather's Christian "camp". Bring the family and join other NCS brudders. Click here for more information (including a slide show from 2009).		NCS SUMMER CHECKLIST: 1. "Join" NCS on the new NCS website (to access all the website features and keep getting communications). 2. Get involved in an Energy Group. . 3. Register for NCS Week at Camp-of-the Woods (it's a vacation for the whole family--August 14-21). 4. Save the date for the 2011 NCS Annual Retreat (March 4-6, 2011 at The Homestead). 5. Support NCS (and your local chapter) with a donation--it's OUR community.
