NCS is about more than just making friends. It’s about taking our relationships with each other and with Jesus to a deeper level. We believe that this personal transformation makes an impact for the Kingdom. One way we can do this is by banding together and working should-to-shoulder to bring justice to the world around us. Our efforts might be local, national or global, but they are always recognized as compassion in action. They include charity, but they are much more than that. We work together to “right wrongs.” That’s what we mean by “love your neighbor.” We are committed to making things right in the world, for others close at hand and for those farther away.

In his new book, To Change The World: The Irony, Tragedy, and Possibility of Christianity in the Late Modern World, James Hunter introduces the concept of "faithful presence" and writes, "A theology of faithful presence calls Christians to enact the shalom of God in the circumstances in which God has placed them and to actively seek it on behalf of others."  "What this means," writes Hunter, "is that where and to the extent that we are able, faithful presence commits us to do what we can to create conditions in the structures of social life we inhabit that are conducive to the flourishing of all."

For us, righting wrongs is also a way to “Worship the King.”

There are dozens of ways to get involved in this kind of compassionate action. Wherever our involvement leads to deeper friendships with each other and positive Christ-centered impact on our families, our neighbors, the marketplace or the world, we encourage action. This isn’t action just because it’s the noble thing to do. This is action because it furthers the NCS mission of personal transformation through Jesus – and that fulfills the will of the Father, to see His Kingdom come here on earth. We impact the world not only by what we do together but also by the men we become in the process. Righting wrongs is doing righteousness – and that delights God and blesses others.

We will be adding information on ways that NCS men can serve together and make a difference.  Please check back frequently to see what is new.  You should also check your Chapter's website for local service opportunities.
