NCS Denver was started by Ken Philbrick and Lew Visscher after several years of promising to start a Christian breakfast group. Ken and Lew have known each other for many years and each time they met they broached the topic of bridging their fast-paced work careers with their Christian backgrounds. After some time had passed they finally decided to start a men’s fellowship group. They extended invitations to business professionals in the Colorado community and a first breakfast was held in downtown Denver on December 3, 2013 with about 25 participants.
They did not know what would come next but in January 2014, Ken was in New York and met Tom Cole, NCS Chapter Leader. As they were meeting for dinner, a friend told Ken he should start the New Canaan Society Chapter in Denver, Colorado. Ken discussed the idea with Lew, Jim Lane and Tom Cole. After some prayer and reflection they decided to move forward and start the Denver Chapter of NCS. It has been a crawl, walk and then run effort ever since, with a monthly NCS chapter meeting at various locations with excellent speakers and more to come.
In summary our vision for NCS Denver is to bring Christian men closer together to share experiences, stories, joys, struggles and pains. We strive for a place where men can feel comfortable sharing their faith regardless of their struggles. We encourage all men that are either starting their faith, sharing their faith and/or strengthening their faith to join us.
We started slowly with monthly meetings and have had anywhere from 30 to over 70 men in attendance with great speakers so far! We are just starting some small groups in geographical areas of the Denver and surrounding areas, including Boulder, the Denver Tech Center and Castle Rock areas.
We currently have over 240 members and are growing each month. If you are interested in learning more please email Ken Philbrick at: firstname.lastname@example.org or Lew Visscher at: email@example.com for more information and an invite to attend a future gathering or small group. We trust you will find it rewarding, fun and comfortable no matter where you are in your walk with the Lord.

About the New Canaan Society
Nationally over 10,000 men meet weekly across 52 chapters nationwide. Each chapter has its own flavor and is directed locally.
Built around a group of 4-8 guys a chapter will eventually produce small G.A.S groups where deeper friendships are born and built. G.A.S. groups typically meet on the off weeks of the chapter meetings. Many chapters will do a dinner once a quarter or something else social.
Once a year the movement has an opportunity to be together at the National Retreat Weekend in March.
