The men of the New Haven chapter gather weekly to share a meal and share about their lives. We encourage men to come as they are and be transparent about their trials, challenges, victories, doubts and insecurities. We desire a community of men who feel comfortable sharing and will pray, listen, laugh, encourage and cry with each other. Our goal is to point men to Jesus to develop a relationship with Him and other brothers.
In 2007, chapter leader Armand Amendola was invited to an NCS meeting. At the meeting, the Holy Spirit spoke to Armand and put on his heart to start a chapter. For a year and a half, Armand continued to feel the ‘push’ to start a chapter. He began in the shoreline area, but men were not interested. He heard the Spirit tell him to ‘start it in New Haven’. One week later, Armand ran into two men (now part of New Haven leadership team) and after talking, decided to start this chapter. The first meeting was held in December of 2008 and the rest is history…
About the New Canaan Society
Nationally over 10,000 men meet weekly across 52 chapters nationwide. Each chapter has its own flavor and is directed locally.
Built around a group of 4-8 guys a chapter will eventually produce small G.A.S groups where deeper friendships are born and built. G.A.S. groups typically meet on the off weeks of the chapter meetings. Many chapters will do a dinner once a quarter or something else social.
Once a year the movement has an opportunity to be together at the National Retreat Weekend in March
