After four years of volunteering at the New York City Rescue Mission, America’s first shelter founded in 1872, Craig was appointed in 2012 as the Executive Director.
Craig has been in ministry for over 35 years, starting with the Detroit Rescue Mission after graduating from Talbot Theological seminary. While at the Detroit Mission, Craig continued his graduate studies, eventually completing a masters in counseling from Oakland University and a Ph.D. in counseling from Wayne State University. He served for 10 years in higher education as a Professor of Counseling Psychology. He has served as a pastor at two churches in the Detroit area.
His compassion for the poor has grown over the years, leading to the founding in 2003 of Impact India 360, an organization which has built schools, orphanages and a hospital in India. In 2008 Craig and Chris moved to NYC to start and co-lead a new church, Communitas, where he still serves as a pastor.
Craig has been married to Chris for 28 years are they are the parents of three grown children.
