Jay Helvey serves as the Managing Partner of the New Canaan Society (NCS) Management Committee, which NCS’ national governing board. He co-founded and leads NCS Winston Salem, which has over 900 men on the roster and attendance of over 200 men across three weekly meetings.
Jay is a Managing Partner with CMT Asset Management based in Chicago, Illinois. He is a former Managing Director with J.P. Morgan & Co., having served as Vice-Chairman of the firm’s Risk Management Committee and Global Head of Counterparty and Hedge Fund Risk Management during a 17 year career with the firm. Jay has a Masters degree from Columbia University, specializing in international finance and banking, was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Cologne, Germany, and is a magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Wake Forest University where he serves as Trustee and Vice Chairman of the Investment Policy Committee.
Jay is also a Director of Pike Electric Corporation (PEC) which is listed on the NYSE. In 2004, he was a candidate for the United States Congress in the 5th District of North Carolina. Jay lives in Winston-Salem, NC with his wife Jane and five children, including twins adopted from Ethiopia in March of 2008. He is a member of River Oaks Community Church, and of interest to NJ guys, Baltusrol Golf Club.
