Michael Cerstvik is an NCS brother with a burden for the lost and a heart for those struggling in life whether it be with addictions, homelessness, food insecurity, or any other life issue. He is the sourcing coordinator for Table To Table, a nonprofit food rescue charity and ministers with his wife Julie, whom he married just a little over a year ago, sharing the gospel and distributing food, clothing, and Gospel materials in the highways and hedges of northern New Jersey.
Michael began his own struggle with sexual addiction and drug use during his middle school years. His drug addiction progressed from marijuana and alcohol to hard drug use. After a 27 year long struggle, The Lord delivered Michael completely from drugs, but he still battled with sexual issues. Having lost a previous marriage to his pornography addiction, Michael recently found freedom in the Conquer Group offered by Bethany Church.
After completing two cycles of the course, Michael will be launching Conquer with his pastor, this fall, at Bethany’s Washington Township Campus. Michael is also a leader in a new men’s group at Bethany named Kings in Christ, which is based on Anthony Fleming’s book (and associated videos) entitled Transform. He has been used by the Lord to lead many people into a personal relationship with Christ since his conversion, and currently serves and preaches in two inner city ministries (Heavy Laden and Dominion Manna Station) with Julie, in Newark, as well as sharing the Word with the men of the Market Street Mission once a month.
Michael’s story is one of the faithfulness of Christ and the victory He offers in the face of multiple setbacks and tremendous obstacles. Come out and hear his inspiring testimony this Friday. You will be blessed!
