Pastor Yeathus Johnson is an ordained minister of the C&MA denomination, served on the C&MA Board of Directors, and is currently serving as the Urban Region Superintendent of the Metropolitan District overseeing 40 urban churches in the Greater NYC area. Yeathus is primarily responsible for recruiting, equipping, coaching, and serving church planters, pastors and ministry leaders from West Africa, Ethiopia, the Caribbean Islands, Haiti, Latin America, Guyana, Russia, Armenia, the Middle East, India, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Australia, Europe, and North America. Some he supports affectionately call him “Bishop.”
Yeathus received much of his organizational management training and skills while working as a product manager in Information Technology with United Parcel Service for 10 years. He holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from South Carolina State University, a Master’s in Urban Ministry from Alliance Theological Seminary (ATS), and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree in Global Leadership at ATS.
After serving 4 years in the U.S. Army, Yeathus served as a lay leader and on staff with independent churches in South Carolina, New Jersey, and the Bronx. For 6 years Yeathus served as a bi-vocational youth pastor and elder with another independent church. He served 2 years on the executive board of Touch The World Ministries, and served as an elder on the Governing Board at Cornerstone Chapel of the C&MA in Pompton Plains. These experiences were instrumental and formative in providing the ministerial skills Yeathus would later hone for greater ministry impact.
Yeathus is a certified cultural intelligence trainer and coach with The Cultural Intelligence Center where he facilitates CQ for organizations and churches, and a certified Strengths Deployment Inventory trainer and coach through Personal Strengths Publishing helping leaders develop EQ—emotional intelligence.
Yeathus’ greatest gift is his family; he is wonderfully married to Katherine, his soul mate of 24 years, and has two sons, Isaiah and Jeremiah. Today, Yeathus can say that God has used his family to help shape him into a man that hungers and pursues the heart of Christ!
