Approximately four years ago I was introduced to Tom Cole and he asked if a small group of us would start a new chapter in Denver, Colorado. Leading up to this conversation, Lew Visscher and I had been talking about how to leverage our executive network to witness to business executives. God was working on my heart during this time but I did not have enough courage or conviction to build a Christian men’s group. The invitation from Tom Cole was the push Lew and I needed to get started and serve the men in Colorado.
During my time at NCS I have learned the value of developing strength through authenticity. Similar to many other men, I deal with various forms of adversity at work and in my personal life. It has been very helpful to meet periodically in small groups and seek the wisdom of other men at NCS, who offer support and encouragement.
The leadership of our chapter is focused on putting God first and ourselves last. Our primary focus is to befriend and lead as many men to Jesus Christ. We host monthly meetings and ask a leader in the community to share his testimony. In addition, we recently hosted our first annual retreat in Beaver Creek, CO. We had 100 men attend this event, which was transformative in terms of drawing closer to God and becoming better fathers, husbands and friends. The success of this event is the most important accomplishment of my life.
