OUR GUEST

Rev. Louis E Midura (or “Louie” to his NCS brudders and “Father Lou” in his new role as Rector) became the Rector of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Lake Luzerne, NY, after more than 30 years as a residential builder constructing high-end homes in the Manchester/Dorset, VT area.  Louie is also one of the founding leaders of the NCS Manchester chapter.

Father Lou came to St. Mary’s in February of 2021 initially as a deacon.  On the diocesan level, he is a worship leader and a member of the Southern Adirondack Deanery.  Over the years, he has been involved in many aspects of parish life, principally at Zion Episcopal Church in Manchester, VT. He has served as a vestry member, senior and junior warden, treasurer, and stewardship chair. He has also served as a worship leader, healing prayer member, lay Eucharistic minister, Bible study leader, lay reader, chalice bearer, acolyte, World Vision 30-hour famine leader, and ALPHA coordinator.

Outside of church, in addition to his leadership of NCS Manchester, Louie has been the VT ALPHA representative, and Rutland VT Men’s Correctional Facility ALPHA leader. He has led or attended several mission trips to Uganda, Katrina, and Peru.

In the community, Louie has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, the Community Food Cupboard, the Sunderland VT select board as selectman and chair, and Little League as a coach for 13 years. He has been a foster care parent, international student homestay parent, Fresh Air Fund parent, and World Vision and Compassion child sponsor in his home. He is the recipient of the Manchester, VT Chamber of Commerce Unsung Hero Award in December 2012.

While working full-time running Midura Building Company, Louie pursued a degree at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Hamilton, Massachusetts, and was ordained to the priesthood in April 2021.

Louie and Patty have three children, two granddaughters, and two chocolate labs.  He loves playing his guitar, fishing, camping, carpentry, golf, and hiking.
