Kenny Thacker is a gifted storyteller, musician and speaker, and he was the Spiritual Guide at the 2014 NCS New England Regional Retreat. His favorite and most told story is God’s story, the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. This Good News is shared by Kenny whether he is performing a musical concert, preaching to a congregation, teaching business leaders, laughing around a campfire, counseling, training, or reclining on the front porch. Jesus Christ is the hero and climax of this “sounds too good to be true” story that Kenny wants to share with you.
Kenny carries an anointing for prophetic insight impacting today’s church and has a heart for true discipleship. He delights in helping people discover who they are in Christ, encouraging their gifts, and seeing them released into God’s purpose.
Kenny is most passionate about the life changing work of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and has a knack for finding the theme of this great story in unexpected places. In simplicity and humor, he delivers the Gospel message setting the stage for revelation and freedom in hearts that are open to receive this sound Word of God.
Kenny grew up playing music in a family band, touring festivals around the south, including playing the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. He has been active in ministry for 40 years as a pastor, worship leader and popular national/international conference speaker. Originally from Kentucky, he and his beautiful wife, Lynn, now reside in Prosper, Texas. Although Kenny serves as the Lead Pastor of Lighthouse Christian Fellowship in Prosper, he is the President of SoundWord, Inc, a Co-Director for the Kerygma Network of Churches, and is on the advisory board of Kerygma Ventures.
