David Prior was for four years Director of The Centre for Marketplace Theology in the City of London, an initiative by professionals in the financial sector to bring Christian perspectives and priorities to bear on the City. He now works as an international consultant in marketplace ministry. A graduate in Classics and Philosophy from Trinity College, Oxford, and a former journalist, he studied theology at Cambridge University before being ordained into the Anglican Church in 1967. He has served parishes in London Oxford and Cape Town and traveled widely throughout the world as a lecturer and consultant. He has close links with Uganda, where he has made about twelve visits in the last 20 years. He is the author of eight books and regularly contributes articles to various magazines and journals. He is married to Rosemary and they have four adult children in their 20’s or 30’s.
From September 2001 to June 2002 he was Fellow-in-Residence at the C.S.Lewis Institute in Washington DC and Elder-in-Residence at The Falls Church Episcopal Church in Northern Virginia. In November 2002 he was due to take up an appointment as Chaplain at Christ Memorial Chapel on Jupiter Island in Hobe Sound, Florida.
