Ian Cron was raised and educated in Greenwich, CT. After graduating from Bowdoin College, Ian worked briefly as a commercial jingle singer and writer. In 1983, he joined the Young Life staff serving as an Area Director in Greenwich, Wilton, New Canaan and Darien CT. In 1990, Ian was named the Associate Regional Director for Young Life’s Metro-East Region.
After receiving an MA in Counseling Psychology from Denver Seminary and an M.Div at New York Theological Seminary, Ian was named the Associate for Outreach and Counseling at Stanwich Congregational Church, Greenwich, CT.
While there, he began an evening worship service that grew from 30- 300 in just 2 years. From that beginning Trinity Church, Greenwich was born. Six years later 600 people attend Trinity’s morning service every Sunday.
In addition to being Senior Pastor of Trinity, Ian maintains a career as a musician and now as an author. Ian released the CD The Land of My Father’sin 1995 andSacred Hunger in 2001. His first book, Chasing Francis: A Pilgrim’s Tale, is a story that explores the relevance of the life and message of St. Francis of Assisi to the emerging postmodern church. It will be released on NavPress in July of 2006.
Ian has been married for 18 years to his wife Anne. Together they have 3 children: Cailey 14, Madeleine 11, Aidan, 8 and a Portuguese Water Dog named Hobbes. They presently live in Old Greenwich, CT.
