Peter Pretorius is the founder of Jesus Alive Ministries International. In 1979 Peter’s father suffered two serious heart attacks within one hour and was dying. Desperate, Peter phoned a cousin, a pastor, to pray. Peter’s father was healed instantly. Three weeks later Peter and his wife Ann gave their hearts to the Lord, and their lives changed dramatically.
Obedient to the vision in his heart, Peter founded Jesus Alive Ministries International, an interdenominational organization designed to reach the lost through mass evangelism. As a result, more than 8 million people have accepted Jesus at more than 100 crusades. In addition, Jesus Alive Ministries has produced aChurch Development Program (a multilingual teaching program), now being introduced to more than 7,000 churches on the African continent. Through Joint Aid Management’s (JAM) humanitarian operations in Angola, Rwanda, Sudan, South Africa and Mozambique, millions of lives have been saved and assisted. Peter also has great compassion for the suffering and the destitute. JAM currently feeds more than 420,000 children daily. Peter’s commitment to care for the poor and hungry has inspired and united many believers throughout the world, contributing to this mighty work in response and obedience to God’s call.
