Richard Williams is the Pastor and Director of Pivot Ministries. A 2008 graduate of Pivot Ministries, Pastor Richard has served as the Executive Director to Pivot since early 2018. In his service to Pivot, he has held the positions of Director, Asst. Program Director, Reentry House Supervisor, GED Facilitator, and Support Staff.
In 2008, Pastor Richard graduated from the Teen Challenge Training Center as well as Pivot Ministries, Inc. He returned to serve at Pivot Ministries where he has been committed to helping others overcome the grips of addiction. In 2009 Pastor Richard developed Pivot Ministries’ GED Tutorial Program. In 2010 – 2011 he was Project Manager for the City of Bridgeport’s “Green-Up Program, a green-jobs training initiative, and in 2011 he was named Professional of the Year by the City of Bridgeport/Southwestern Connecticut Regional Workforce Development Board. In 2012, Pastor Richard received his license to minister, and in 2015 he was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor Richard is a member and Elder of Stanwich Church. He also serves on the Leadership Board of Stanwich Church Stamford Campus.
Pastor Richard was born in Annapolis, Maryland and graduated from the University of Maryland in College Park, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in General Studies and Special Education in 1981. His post-graduation experience also includes working with adults with special needs. His work in this area concentrated on Vocational Rehabilitation services.
