About the Retreat

NCS 2019 in Orlando - Open Now

NCS is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the March 2019 National Retreat. We traded chilly DC for tropical Orlando and will be taking advantage of the beautiful weather on multiple occasions. We have a diverse group of speakers and in our time together we will hear some amazing stories, laugh a lot and enjoy powerful worship. This is a can’t miss event.

Our theme this year is “What is your story?” Understanding our own stories is the key to freedom, growth and transformation.

  • Can you separate your story from your history?
  • Can you identify the most influential moments in your story?
  • Do you believe that you can change your story?
  • Do you think your story is too dark to share or just not interesting enough?
  • Do you know your story is part of a larger story?

Join us March 1-3 as we hear from men like Ian Morgan Cron, Todd Komarnicki, Curt Thompson, Charlie Hoehn, Jay Stringer, Michael Anderson, Rev. Anthony Thompson as well as men from across the country.

The Early Bird price is a limited time offer, so take advantage of the discount and make your travel plans. We have also made ALL registrations refundable so you can make your plans, book your travel and capitalize on the lowest prices and fares.

The retreat weekend will feature plenty of fun such as, 18 holes of championship golf, fishing, skeet shooting, a 2-man pitch&putt tournament and even a chance to join in an alligator removal expedition. Registration is now open - don’t wait to make your travel plans and join us!

FAQ

Who should attend the NCS National Retreat?

We are a group of men who gather together to encourage each other in friendship and faith and to support each other to be better husbands, better fathers, and better men in the marketplace and in our communities. So if you are looking to connect with other men, deepen your faith and learn more about your story and others, NCS Orlando 2019 is for you.

I don’t know my plans this far in advance, what is your refund policy? Should I register now?

YES - We have changed our cancellation policy, now fully refundable (minus $25) to allow you to register and take advantage of the cost savings. There is a 20% discount right now to help you and since more of you will have to travel we want you to be able to book cheap flights in advance! Register now and make your plans - there is no risk.

What all is included in the registration fee? Will I have to buy any meals on my own?

Your hotel room for Friday & Saturday night (either single or shared) is included in the fee along with Friday & Saturday dinners and all coffee breaks. Breakfast is on your own at one of the hotel’s café’s or restaurants. We do offer an optional Friday & Saturday buffet breakfast package to purchase for $100 (that is the actual cost for the 2 buffets). We will be offering optional sponsored lunches on Saturday. Sunday lunch after the retreat concludes is on your own.

Can I pay in installments?

Yes! Our registration platform allows us to set up a 2 payment plan. The card you use to register will be charged automatically the second half on January 15.

Are there any scholarships available?

Retreat scholarships are provided by local chapters. Please contact your chapter leader to find out more.

I don’t want to rent a car. How can I get from MCO to the Omni?

There are several ways to get to the Omni. Uber, Taxi or Lyft is available at a cost of $35-$40 each way. We also plan on offering a free shuttle service for 4 hours for Friday afternoon, 3/1 and then 3 shuttles back to the airport on Sunday afternoon, 3/3. More details to follow. Please indicate your interest when you register for our planning purposes.

I like the idea of sharing the cost and having a roommate, but I don’t know who I want to room with. Can I still register and let you know later?

We are happy to match you with a requested roommate anytime before February 15, 2019 as long as he has already registered. Once February 15 hits, we have to pair you with another person. We will try our best to match you by age and region, but cannot guarantee anything after that date!

I see some pre-event activities on the schedule, what do I need to do?

Part of the reason we chose to host our retreat in Florida this year is because of the beautiful weather in March! We have some pre-event golf opportunities, both in a tournament format and also just some reserved tee times on Friday for those who want to grab some brothers and get a round in, the course at the Omni is beautiful. We will also have a 2-man pitch and putt tournament on Saturday night on the 9-hole chipping course (100 yards or less).

I saw in the weekend details there is a chance to join in an alligator removal excursion, that is a joke right?

Nope! You read it right! We will be auctioning off a chance for a couple guys to head out on an alligator removal call and get in on the action. Stay tuned for more details.

Florida in March? I’d love to bring my wife and/or kids and spend a few extra days before or after. How can I arrange this?

While our retreat is only for men, you are welcome to bring others along to be on their own during the retreat. On our registration page, you will find a place to indicate if anyone is joining you. You will need to purchase a single room package and request double beds if needed. To arrange early arrival on Thursday, please see registration form. Other nights are an option based on availability only and will need to be confirmed with hotel through NCS before we can arrange. Please email Lauren Brown at laurenbrown@newcanaansociety.org for more details.

I have some other questions. Who should I contact?

Please contact Lauren Brown at laurenbrown@newcanaansociety.org or 719-684-6363.
