Steve Sammons holds a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership and is CEO of the Children’s Literacy Project, a national nonprofit working to ensure every child in America can read. Under his leadership, CLP has produced SENTENCED, a documentary featured on Peacock and in the Library of Congress, and the Moonshot Moment series, driving national awareness of the childhood literacy crisis. CLP activates communities of faith as the largest untapped volunteer force in education, with city activations in Kansas City, Vancouver WA, and Chattanooga. CLP’s Church Toolkit, published through Zondervan, equips congregations to launch literacy programs in their communities. Before CLP, Steve played a key role at BiblicalTraining.org, helping build one of the largest free online theological education platforms in the world, now serving students in over 220 countries. Steve is also Co-Founder of Hawkeye.pro, a consulting firm, and CTO of Society Arts, an AI-powered art platform. He serves on the Board of Okanagan Bible College and the Advancement Board of Asbury Theological Seminary. A storyteller and practitioner, Steve believes the church has a unique calling to step into the literacy crisis and that great stories are the fastest way to move people to action.
